ICA CURRICULUM

Core Curriculum

Every student takes a college preparatory core curriculum which includes two classes of English a day; one in Literature the other in Language Arts, Mathematics, History, Laboratory Science and Foreign Language. Foreign Languages offered include Mandarin Chinese, Japanese, French and Spanish.

 

Supplemental and Elective Courses

AP Courses

The core curriculum is supplemented by courses in the Fine and Performing Arts, Computer Science, Physical Education and Health, SAT and TOEFL Preparation and elective courses such as Environmental Science, Marine Science, Astronomy, Genetics, World Religions, Psychology, Sociology, Film as Literature, and Creative Writing.

This year, ICA’s advanced courses include Calculus AB, Calculus BC, Chemistry, Chinese Language and Culture, Comparative Government and Politics, Human Geography, Japanese, Music Theory, Psychology, Physics 1 and 2, Studio Art-2D, Studio Art-Drawing and World History.

Senior Seminar(Leadership and Citizenship) is required of all seniors. It includes a community service component.
